Sam Adams Oktoberfest

Happy Sunday Funday ya’ll! Well, its that time of year, we have Oktoberfest beers back in stock! Yes, I know what you’re thinking “The heat index is 108 today” (true story), but dang it its time to get festive! In other news, it is also back to school time. Yes, I did bite the bullet and enrolled in the UCF MBA program starting Tuesday. While I hearken back to my glory days of undergrad, I’m not gonna lie I’ve got the Sunday Scaries BAD. So hopefully this helps take the edge off.

Appearance: I’m drinking it straight out of the bottle which has an autumnal orange label on it. So, on par for the style.

Aroma: I’m getting lots of malts and hints of mulling spices on this. It smells like it’d be perfect for a crisp 60 degree day. Too bad, it feels like 108 right now…

Taste: This is a very malty brew with hints of spice on it. There isn’t anything super complex but it is very enjoyable sitting in the AC under a fan on high!

Mouthfeel: This is a very smooth, and lighter than expected body without a ton of carbonation. I could knock a couple back without them sitting too heavily on it.

Value: I think the single was under $2, so not bad at all!

Overall: While this isn’t a super complex Oktoberfest, I really enjoy its simplicity. It does its job, and does it well. I would give this a 7/10 because it has good flavor, is well balanced, and has a great aroma. While FL may not get to experience a true fall, I would definitely have a few of these bad boys in rotation if we did!

Until next time, tight lines and cheer!
